Update from Vineyard 3/15/21: All vaccination clinics have been concluded! Thank you very much to our partners and everyone who participated – The Vineyard Team

________

Vineyard Bluffton has been included in the first priority phase for receiving the COVID-19 vaccine and has opted-in to the CDC‘s vaccination distribution program based on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) panel recommendation to grant emergency authorization of the vaccine and distribution of the first doses throughout the U.S.

In partnership with Walgreens, we will be able to offer on-site immunization clinics. “We have diligently worked together to create the essential process of safely and seamlessly delivering and administering the vaccine to our residents and staff beginning this month,” said Vineyard Bluffton Executive Director Kaylynn Evans.

Immunization fee is dependent on individual insurance coverage. We will be receiving the Moderna vaccine; additional details regarding the rollout are outlined below.

TIMELINE & CLINIC INFORMATION

Vineyard Bluffton, will host their first clinic this month. There will be three clinics for each community:

  • Clinic 1 will be the first dose, scheduled on January 13 from 9 am – 1 pm
  • Clinic 2 will be the second dose, scheduled on February 10 from 9 am – 1 pm;
  • Clinic 3 will be the third dose, held 28 days later than clinic 2 and will catch anyone that missed the first clinic.

This is phase one of the operation warp speed, so only residents or front line workers will be able to take advantage of the vaccine at this time.

SUPPORT AND PREPARATION

We encourage residents and staff to get vaccinated in order to protect themselves, their families and our community, with the hope of returning to some degree of normalcy.

Below are a few ways that you can help to start to prepare for the upcoming clinics:

1. Watch the Webinar

We want to provide you with as much information as we can to help you feel supported and prepared and encourage you to watch the webinar. In it, Ruth Link-Gelles, PhD, Lieutenant Commander from the CDC, answers frequently asked questions and a Walgreens Pharmacy Leader provides a view into the upcoming clinic process.

2. Vaccination Administration Record

Prior to immunization, each resident (or their healthcare proxy) must sign (or annotate in place of signature) the consent section (section C) of the Vaccination Authorization Record (VAR). We recommend you get this in as soon as possible to assist us with preparation.

3. Resident & Family Clinic Handout

We understand that people may feel hesitant about getting the novel COVID-19 vaccine. The handout “What to Expect” provides information about the vaccine and the process to help inform and encourage residents/patients to get immunized.

4. Moderna Vaccination Fact Sheet

Read this fact sheet for information about the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.
